USAFA Air Gardens

At the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, our team restored the 15 reflecting pools of the Air Gardens. Each pool received a new individual filtration system and dark ebony Diamond Brite plaster, and the team worked out how to install the vertical finish on the coping and the thickened edges around the pools.

The renovation began when alumni of the classes of 1972, 1975 and 1976 wanted the space returned to the memorable place it once was. More than 35 employees worked through snow, wind, rain and traffic with no lost days from injuries. The 36,000 SF of white-topped flatwork, eight miles of sawcuts and lighting under 20 bridges were completed by Colorado Hardscapes.
